Photo exhibition: La Valtellina in Giro

Teglio, from Friday 20th  May to Tuesday 1st  November 2022

On the occasion of the passing of the Giro d’Italia in Valtellina, the museum of Palazzo Besta hosts a photographic exhibition that will tell the unique relationship that links great sport cycling to the territory of Valtellina. The roads that feed this landscape cannot be separated from the achievements of the athletes who have travelled them, who have marked them as privileged paths of world excellence in Lombardy.

An immersive exhibition in which they will run on large-format panels evocative photos that have stopped their gaze on the main climbs of the Valtellina: Stelvio, Gavia, Mortirolo. The snapshots that have captured together with the athletic achievements of the cyclists the extraordinary beauty of an area framed by the Alps, designed and supported by the lines of the terraces, will be housed in what were the old stone cellars of the prestigious Palazzo Besta, an example of Renaissance architecture that rises on the plateau overlooking the Alps. on the Orobie Prealps. A perfect blend of man, nature and history that sees one of its greatest expressions in the telline land.
