Sentiero Valtellina: a cyclists' dream

A route for cyclists and pedestrians for a trip out of town amidst green landscapes and fresh mountain air

Among the paths and routes to discover the Valtellina territory, the Sentiero Valtellina is one of the most important; a cycle and pedestrian itinerary that follows the green landscapes along the course of the river Adda. The route starts in Colico on Lake Como and climbs slowly up the valley to finally end in Bormio in Alta Valtellina, covering a total distance of 114 km.

The Sentiero Valtellina is best suited for families and cyclists of all levels and ages. It is a long and largely flat cycle path on which no cars are allowed.
Running alongside the river Adda, the route allows you to discover the unique and inimitable beauty of the area among vineyards, meadows and apple orchards, as well as to breathe in the clear and clean mountain air.

Cycling enthusiasts can take advantage of 40 rest areas along the route where they can stop for a short picnic, as well as numerous refreshment points where they can relax and enjoy a lunch break with good typical Valtellina food.
There is also a "Rent a Bike" service, which allows you to rent different types of bicycles with the possibility of returning them at other dedicated rental points along the route.
